I am 79 years old, in very good health, married, with one daughter now living in Arizona. I am retired from the former Erie Railroad Company, which turned into the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad Company, and in turn into ConRail. I started in 1944, during the last days of steam locomotives. Have been retired officially since 1990, but remain very busy. I enjoy cooking, making up recipes as I go along. For the past 26 years I have been producer/host of a jazz and big band radio program on a National Public Radio FM radio station, with a large audience. My hobbies are reading about steam locomotives, old guns, military history, music and aviation. I once was a pilot, but had to give up after 9 hours because a case of German measles ruined my eye-sight, and in those days you had to have uncorrected 20/20 vision in order to obtain a pilot's license. I do some writing for fun, have been published a few times. I am active in a jazz society locally.
